Leana... I agree about this event having some place in the yearbook. Was anyone taking pictures? Maybe we can get some from the local papers if you see any printed, or ask around if anyone took any. See you at the pole Wed. is a good idea too. The blanket drive that's being collected Monday. We don't have those cameras yet, but we should be taking pictures now and scanning them later. Can you bring in your camera? Anyone? (By the way, we can pay for developing costs through the club.)
This great change that this incredible week has delivered may be worth exploring in terms of a theme. Not to say that the yearbook would focus on just the negative changes of the past week. But still, good or bad, I have a feeling it will be the defining point of this school year. I'll throw this out..."Changes and Challenges" or something in that vein.
Keep thinking and talking.

Have I mentioned lately... how impressed I am with your effort here so far. This is a pretty cool artifact of this process...maybe we should include a piece of it in the book!
Leanna is on a good track in trying to make the idea more concrete. You have to be able to visualize the book before we start. You all have to be comfortable with whatever theme you choose. You've got to believe in it. I know it sounds corny, but I think one thing that's been missing from past yearbooks is passion...passion for the idea. Passion for the content, to make it a true keepsake, something that 20 years from now people can come back to and not just see faces from the past but experience the way their school and their community were. You need to think of this like that. Yeah, it's cool when you get your yearbook. But speaking from experience, it's even cooler when you pick it up a chunk of years later and can still feel what it was like to live it. My yearbook doesn't do a great job of that. This one that you are making can. So you need to weave the story of your high school experience together in a memorable way, and you do that with theme. It's the glue.
No pressure, ok?

Hey all... What a week, huh? Somehow yearbook doesn't seem real important...but in the end, it is very important in that we need to remember the good and fun and exciting stuff in our lives too (and yearbook is all that, right?)
As soon as the school Internet connection gets fixed, I'll be doing a group e-mail. Thanks to all who showed up...it looks like we have a lot of talent and enthusiasm. I'm as psyched as I can be considering the events of this week.
For now, here's what's on tap...Tuesday...Meeting with Mr. Davine from Herff-Jones with me, Mike, Leana, Rachel, and Sean...'till 4 p.m...Wednesday, envelope stuffing party for all that can make it (refreshments a la Sean) 'til 3:30 latest
Priorities...Staff...as soon as the e-mail comes back up I'll send the list and you can start making some decisions...Theme...we need to decide next week...Sections and pages and where to cut...Story ideas, the sooner the better...
Remember, those not on this blog may e-mail ideas to Mike or Leana or me and we'll post.
Anything else???

Hi Guys...Just a reminder about this week...tomorrow, up in the yearbook office (the corner offices overlooking the softball fields in the 900 level) Leana, Mike, Rachel and Sean with Mr. Davine 'till about 4 or so...Wednesday, general meeting in Room 614 from 2:15-2:50. We need to make sure we prep for that meeting.
I think we should plan to meet each Wednesday until we get into the process, then see how it goes. NEXT WEDNESDAY we need to get as many people as possible to help us with the mailing (2600 letters!) Think of incentives.
Let me know here if anyone has any problems with the meetings...Tues is. crucial, I think.
